Privacy and data handling

SplitSleeperCalc has a browser website and a separate native iPhone app. The website offers optional Google sign-in and paid AI log drafts; its calculator and manual review do not require an account or payment. AI and purchases depend on current account and service availability. The sign-in AI trial is disabled. The native app has no account, login or cloud sync. Neither calculator requests GPS or location data, connects to a vehicle or ELD, or makes an official, legal, or compliance determination.

Website entries stay in the browser tab

The website runs its calculation in the browser. The two periods and optional work totals you enter remain in that browser tab and are discarded when the tab closes. The calculator does not upload or save those entries and does not share website storage with the native app. Optional account requests use a separate same-site service.

Native iPhone app saving is explicit and local

In the native app, calculation and unsaved entries remain in process. Nothing is saved automatically. Only when you explicitly tap Save this scenario does the app write a Codable JSON file in that app's sandbox on that iPhone. A saved row can be reopened into Calculate or explicitly deleted from Saved. Deleting a row updates that local saved-scenarios file; it does not contact a service.

Calculation data and optional website accounts

The local calculators do not transmit your entered periods, saved scenario names, device location, vehicle information or ELD data. The optional AI log-draft workspace sends only the text you explicitly choose to submit, as described below. When you choose website Google sign-in, Google provides your verified email, name, profile image when available, and Google account identifier. The account service stores this profile and authentication records, including account tokens and sessions, to maintain your login. Sessions can include the request IP address and browser user-agent. Secure cookies identify your session; calculation entries are not attached to it. Ordinary links to official FMCSA pages are links you choose to open; the calculator does not fetch those pages as part of a calculation.

Optional AI log-draft workspace

The free calculator processes inputs locally. Google identity is checked only in this optional module. Before sign-in, this tab may temporarily save your manual draft in session storage to restore it after returning; it is never submitted automatically. AI requests, when enabled, send only your explicit submission to this site's API and its configured provider. A configured prompt safety scanner may also receive the submitted text before generation. Private recovery records can store submitted text/context and raw provider results. The server limits result retrieval using the original request deadline. This does not guarantee physical deletion or deletion by downstream providers. Unconfirmed, frozen or unacknowledged records may remain longer. We make no promise about provider retention. The explicitly submitted log and request hashes stay in this tab’s session storage, tied to the original account, for recovery schema and source-quote validation until verified delivery/terminal cleanup or tab closure. Unknown requests retain them and are not resent automatically; account changes clear displayed private results and handoffs. Do not enter sensitive personal logs.

Product boundaries

This educational tool checks two entered rest periods using the described rule logic. It is not an ELD, legal advice, or an official FMCSA compliance determination. It does not decide a complete duty log, connect to a vehicle, or replace a carrier's records or review process.
